For a project, Kirk’s friend Nick recruited him and Mike Zimmerman to host Extra Inning, a show to recap the 2011 spring season had by the Hastings baseball team. It, and more like it, can be viewed on the Misc. Sports Stuff page.

 

November 10 Basketball Recaps

Here, Kirk recaps a pair of basketball games early in the HC Winter Sports season. While Producing, Kirk did quite a number of videos like this.

 

Nate Polak Journey to the MLS

Hastings senior Nate Polak was drafted by the New York Red Bulls of the MLS, and the next night HC Media was broadcasting two basketball games. Kirk was one of the HC Media crew members chosen to be on-camera to recap select games of the NAIA National Women’s Basketball tournament. The format was changed during the 1st round, but these videos still had to air live and be uploaded to the web by halftime of the next game. Hastings Women’s Soccer vs Morningside Recap

For the GPAC Women’s Soccer Semifinal, Kirk gives us a recap of the game, as well as the coach’s thoughts. It can be viewed on the Late College Sports page and under Award Winning Pieces, as this piece took 1st place nationally for sports reporting.
